Gruvaktiebolaget Viscaria is reopening the historic Viscaria copper mine in Kiruna, with production scheduled to begin in 2028. Construction is well underway, marking an important step towards strengthening Europe's supply of responsibly produced copper – a strategic raw material that is essential for electrification, the energy transition and Europe's long-term competitiveness.

Our ambition is to develop one of the world's most responsible copper mines by combining modern technology, high environmental standards and close collaboration with local companies, suppliers and communities. By building strong regional partnerships, we are creating long-term value, supporting local employment and contributing to a more resilient European supply chain.
