Presentation
Katam is a Swedish technology company founded in 2016, with offices in Brazil,
Indonesia and Sweden, specializing in digital solutions for the forestry sector. By
combining artificial intelligence, computer vision, drones, and digital data collection,
Katam transforms traditionally manual forest measurement processes into more
efficient, precise, traceable, and standardized workflows.

Our technology supports forest companies in monitoring plantations, improving
operational processes, and making more informed decisions based on reliable and
structured data. Katam's solutions cover different stages and needs of forest
management, from forest inventory and plantation quality monitoring to aerial
assessments of young plantations and areas undergoing thinning operations.

● Our ground-based solutions use GoPro video and artificial intelligence to
systematically collect information such as tree diameter (DBH), height, spacing,
density, mortality, and plantation uniformity, while enabling each measurement to
be traced and remotely verified.

● Our aerial solutions combine drone-based data collection with AI to efficiently
assess large areas, providing detailed information on plantation development,
tree density, height, survival, uniformity, and areas requiring intervention.

With proprietary technology, forestry expertise, and continuous support throughout
inventory activities, Katam works alongside forest organizations to integrate innovation
into existing operations with minimal friction. Our approach is built around the idea that
better forest management begins with better data: by turning field observations into
structured, traceable, and actionable information, Katam helps forestry companies
reduce uncertainty, improve operational efficiency, and make smarter decisions
throughout the forest management cycle.
