Sweden Makes Music Passed

Thursday April 16, 2026 00:00 - 23:59 New York City | Apr 16, 2026

Main sponsor: Business Sweden

Sweden Makes Music is a music showcase that the Consulate General of Sweden in New York has hosted for ten years. Now, as we prepare for the 11th edition together with our partners, the Swedish Institute, Luger (Way Out West), and Export Music Sweden, we are organizing a vibrant two-evening event. Each year, 3–5 emerging Swedish artists, typically in pop, soul, rap, and R&B, are given the opportunity to make their U.S. live debut on stage at Nublu, the iconic Lower East Side venue, performing for an audience of 260 people.

The day before the concerts, the Consulate hosts a reception for industry professionals along with a panel discussion. Last year’s panel included Christian Luiga (CFO, Spotify), Jesper Thorsson (Export Music Sweden), and Andreea Gleeson (CEO, Tunecore).
