SEK - Swedish Export Credit Corporation Partner
Presentation
The Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK) is a state-owned company that finances Swedish exporters, their subsidiaries, and their foreign customers. With lending in 60 countries, we have substantial knowledge of international transactions and are a natural business partner in export financing.SEK administers the CIRR system, which is a specially commissioned public policy assignment by the Swedish parliament. CIRR means that exporters’ foreign customers get financing at a fixed interest rate for the entire credit period.
What distinguishes SEK from other financiers is that we are state-owned and therefore a stable and long-term partner with a high credit rating. Additionally, we are a part of Team Sweden and collaborate with other export promoters to help Swedish exporters to conduct business abroad.
What we offer
• Social loans: Social loans are offered to exporters and suppliers for projects, often in developing countries, whose aim is to improve social conditions.
• Green loans: Green loans can be offered to exporters, subcontractors and projects whose products or operations contribute to reduced climate and environmental impact. When a loan is classed as green, it can provide the borrower with advantageous terms.
• Sustainability-linked loans: Sustainability-linked loans concern working capital connected to the borrower’s sustainability targets, for example, energy-efficiency enhancements, reduced transportation or reduced number of accidents. If the borrower reaches their targets, they are rewarded with a lower interest rate.
• Factoring services: With factoring services, you can sell your invoices to us, receive payment directly and improve your key performance indicators when accounts receivable are exchanged for cash and cash equivalents on the balance sheet.
• Export credits: Swedish exporters can strengthen their competitiveness by offering their foreign customers financing in connection with the sale of their products or services. SEK offers export credits at both fixed and floating interest rates.
• Project finance: SEK supports projects in which Swedish exporters act as subcontractors, suppliers or sponsors, with senior loans, leasing, renting or participating in bonds.
• Leasing and installment plans: SEK offers financing in the form of leasing and installment plans for export transactions that utilize capital goods as collateral.
• Contract guarantees: Export transactions often entail foreign buyers demanding guarantees, such as for advance payment and performance bonds, before entering into an agreement.
• Loans in local currencies: Swedish companies with subcontractors abroad can borrow funds in local currencies with the purpose of reducing the company’s currency risk. SEK offers financing in more currencies than most of its fellow market participants.
• Working capital: The most common loan requirement is for working capital. This can also sometimes be called a company loan or direct loan. It solves many of our customers’ challenges.
