Welcome to the Borås region and western Sweden!
We offer good opportunities for businesses and we have a history of trade, industry and entrepreneurial tradition. We have a lot of know-how and innovation power in areas such as textiles, automotive and automotive safety, manufacturing industry and e-commerce and logistics. We have a very good logistical location and from central Borås you reach central Gothenburg with its port in 40 minutes. The international airport is only 25 minutes away.

Borås has for several hundred years been Sweden's leading city and region in textiles with entrepreneurship and innovation as a foundation. The Textile Fashion Center is a hub where you will find Borås University, incubators and Science Park Borås. Among the exciting projects at the Science Park you will find textile projects and projects concerning circular business models and sustainable development.

In automotive and vehicle safety, we have world-leading companies such as Autoliv and Veoneer. We also have unique test beds for instance AstaZero which is the world’s first full-scale independent test environment for future road safety. RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) also have test beds in their Borås facility. For example you find Awitar (the Automotive Wireless Test and Research Facility). The facility has been developed in close collaboration with the Swedish automotive industry and is a test facility to check the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of vehicles. RISE is also about to build the Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory (SEEL). The SEEL main plant will be situated in nearby Gothenburg and safety tests of batteries will be the focus at the Borås plant.

We are also very proud to say that the Norwegian company Freyr Batteries, in their plans for global business development, have signed a Letter of Intent for a site in Svenljunga which is a municipality within the Borås Region. We are very much looking forward to this collaboration.
