Swedish-German collaboration for a safer Europe

In recent years, the global security environment is becoming more complex and multidimensional. Global issues including armed conflicts and new unconventional security threats towards critical infrastructure are fundamentally influencing the way that Sweden and Germany are approaching the topic of security. In March 2024, Sweden became a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) marking a historic step towards collective defence. Further, Germany has seen one of the highest increases in its defence budget.

Next to collective defence efforts, innovative and disruptive technologies lie at the core of strengthening the EU’s preparedness and resilience towards complex security issues. To further foster the development of innovative solutions cross-country collaboration between industry and governments play a crucial role.

Germany and Sweden are connected by a longstanding and close relationship fostered by a deepened strategic innovation partnership in the domain of security and defence including areas as space, defence innovation and new technologies.  

Team Sweden in Germany invites you to the Business Summit of Swedish-German Business Day 2024. The summit will focus on Swedish-German collaboration for a safer Europe, with discussions on how Sweden and Germany can respond to multidimensional security challenges. Together we want to explore the Swedish-German ecosystem, its innovative technologies and partnerships.
