Lignoflow's patented technology enables lignin to be processed into a water-based gel, addressing lignin processability challenges while avoiding organic solvents. It is afterwards used to create bio-based adhesive solutions for wood-based panels and other industrial applications.
By turning lignin into a functional adhesive/binder platform, Lignoflow aims to replace conventional resin systems in plywood, particleboard and fiberboard while enabling more circular and sustainable wood products. Our technology is designed to integrate with industrial manufacturing and support the development of new bio-based panel products.
Lignoflow has three granted patents, and the technology is now moving from laboratory development toward industrial scale-up. Lignoflow is planning a 1-ton production together with an industrial partner and is continuing its research, development, and validation with industry.
For Canada, Lignoflow is looking for wood-panel producers to co-develop and scale bio-based adhesive solutions. Collaboration opportunities include application development, industrial validation, production scale-up and technology licensing.
