Simon Carroll was appointed as the President of Saab Canada, Inc. on 1st July 2018, following a successful tenure as the President and General Manager of Saab Middle East LLC. In this role, Simon is responsible for the Saab’ overall management, sales and marketing efforts, business development and industrial partnerships and collaboration within Canada. In his previous role as President and General Manager of Saab Middle East LLC he was responsible for Saab’s joint venture company in the UAE, along with the business development and sales and marketing activities of Saab’s activities in the Middle East region and Pakistan. On joining Saab in 2013, Simon performed the role of Marketing & Sales Country Manager for Bahrain and Algeria for a period of two years. Prior to joining Saab, Simon enjoyed a career in the Royal Australian Navy as an Air Warfare and Operations Officer that included operational deployments to the Middle East and postings to the Australian Defence Force’s Capability Development Group. On completion of his naval career, Simon worked as a Sales Manager, Principal Consultant and Project Manager in the Defence and Telecommunications Industries for Australian based companies Communications, Design & Management and CEA Technologies. Simon holds a BA in History and Graduate Diplomas in Science (Information Technology) from the University of New South Wales, a Graduate Diploma in Information Management and a Diploma from the Stockholm School of Economics. Simon currently resides in Ottawa with his wife Joanne and their two children (Jordyn and Aden).
