Presentation
Volvo Cars is one of the most well-known and respected car makers in the world, providing customers with the Freedom to Move in a personal, sustainable and safe way. This is reflected in its ambition to become a fully electric car maker by 2030 and in its commitment to an ongoing reduction of its carbon footprint, with the ambition to be a climate-neutral company by 2040. In just the past year, Volvo Cars has made significant progress on each of its sustainability ambitions.

In 2023, Volvo Cars revealed the all-electric Volvo EX30, which is designed to have the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo car to-date. Volvo Cars also announced that it would produce its last ever diesel-powered vehicle in early 2024, making Volvo Cars one of the first legacy car makers to entirely exit the development of new combustion engines.

But, Volvo Cars recognises that electrification is not enough. Reaching each of its targets across climate action, the circular economy and responsible business requires taking actions throughout the value chain. Only by setting tougher requirements on suppliers, investing in new technologies, collaborating with like-minded partners and much more can Volvo Cars help to deliver a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Achieving Volvo Cars' sustainability ambitions is not just essential for our future success, but also vital if it is to make a meaningful contribution in addressing global sustainable development challenges.
