Decarbonising steel production: financing green steel in a developing country Video on demand
Saturday December 9, 2023 16:00 - 16:40 +04 Swedish Pavilion
Sponsor: Stockholm Environment Institute
Decarbonizing global steel production is widely accepted as both urgent and immensely challenging. This event seeks to illustrate these challenges and potential solutions by presenting the findings of a new research project by the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). SEI hosts the secretariat of the Leadership Group for Industry Transition – an initiative launched by the governments of Sweden and India, with support from the World Economic Forum, that gathers countries and companies committed to reaching net zero carbon emissions from industry by 2050.
The research project builds the business case and the financial model for an export-focused archetypal green steel project in a developing country.
