특히 국가 및 지역 간 녹색 전환의 속도와 수준의 차이는 기후 정의를 위협하며, 지속가능한 글로벌 거버넌스와 시스템 회복력 강화를 위한 국제적 협력의 필요성을 부각시키고 있습니다. 회복력은 외부 충격을 견디고 변화에 유연하게 대응하며 지속적인 발전을 이어가는 능력으로, 공정하고 포용적인 녹색 전환을 실현하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. 이를 위해 위기 상황에서도 핵심 인프라를 보호하고 안정성을 유지할 수 있는 보안 체계의 강화가 필수적입니다.

이러한 흐름 속에서 스웨덴은 기술 혁신과 공공-민간 협력의 강점을 바탕으로 지속가능성과 회복력 강화에 있어 선도적인 역할을 해왔습니다. 한국 역시 탄소중립, 디지털 전환, 녹색성장을 위한 국가 전략을 수립하고, 산업계와 정부, 연구기관 간의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 녹색 전환을 적극 추진하고 있습니다.

이와 함께 전략적 리더십의 중요성도 점점 커지고 있습니다. 지속가능성과 안보를 통합하는 전략적 리더십은 위기 대응 역량을 높이고, 국제 협력을 촉진하며, 단순한 정책 실행을 넘어 포용적이고 투명한 거버넌스 체계를 구축하는 데 기여합니다. 특히 국방 및 안보 분야에 녹색 기술을 접목함으로써 에너지 공급 중단이나 기후로 인한 불안정성과 같은 새로운 위협에 대한 대응력을 높일 수 있습니다.

이번 서밋은 한국과 스웨덴이 국가 전략, 산업 혁신, 공공-민간 협력 사례를 공유하고, 녹색 전환을 위한 실질적인 로드맵을 함께 모색할 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리입니다. 정부 관계자, 산업계 리더, 국제기구 대표들이 모여 지속가능한 미래를 위한 공동의 비전을 논의하고, 실천 가능한 정책 제언을 도출할 예정입니다. 주요 분야에서의 전략적 파트너십과 투자 발표는 양국 간 협력을 더욱 강화하고, 지속가능성과 안보의 연계를 공고히 할 것입니다.

한국-스웨덴 지속가능한 파트너십 서밋은 스웨덴의 빅토리아 왕세녀와 다니엘 왕자, 스웨덴 정부 장관들, 주요 한국 기업 대표들의 참석으로 더욱 의미를 더하며, 다음과 같은 핵심 목표를 지향합니다: 

• 환경·사회·거버넌스(ESG) 원칙을 바탕으로 스웨덴과 한국 간 주요 분야에서의 협력을 더욱 심화함으로써 양국 관계를 강화합니다.
• 녹색 전환을 가속화하기 위한 전략적 협력을 통해 혁신을 촉진하고, 지속가능한 분야에 대한 투자를 확대합니다.

Toward a Resilient and Sustainable Future

The global community is currently grappling with two major challenges: climate change and energy instability. These issues are further complicated by rapid shifts in the global economy and geopolitical dynamics. Beyond environmental concerns, they carry serious implications for energy supply chains, technological infrastructure, geopolitical stability, and social cohesion.

One of the most urgent concerns is the uneven process in green transition across countries and regions. These disparities threaten climate justice and highlight the need to strengthen global sustainability governance and improve systemic resilience. Resilience, the ability to absorb shocks, adapt to change, and maintain progress, is essential for achieving a fair and inclusive green transition. This includes enhancing security frameworks that protect critical infrastructure and ensure stability in times of crisis.

Sweden has shown strong leadership in this area, driven by technological innovation and strong collaboration between the public and private sectors. Korea, likewise, has laid out national strategies for carbon neutrality, digitalization and green growth, advancing its transition through coordinated efforts across industry, government, and research institutions.

Strategic leadership plays an increasingly important role. It brings together sustainability and security, enabling effective responses to crisis, fostering international cooperation, and building inclusive and transparent governance systems that go beyond policy implementation. Integrating green technologies into defense and security sectors can enhance resilience against emerging threats, from energy disruptions to climate-induced instability.

This summit provides a valuable opportunity for Korea and Sweden to exchange national strategies, industrial innovations, and successful models of public-private collaboration. Government officials, industry leaders, and representatives from international organizations will engage in meaningful dialogue to shape a shared vision and develop a practical roadmap for green transition. Strategic partnerships and investment announcements in key sectors will further strengthen bilateral cooperation and reinforce the nexus between sustainability and security.

The Sweden-Korea Sustainable Partnership Summit, enhanced by the presence of HRH Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, Swedish Ministers, and representatives from major Korean companies, aims to achieve key objectives such as:

• Strengthen Bilateral Relations: Deepen Sweden-South Korea collaboration across key sectors, integrating environmental, social, and governance principles.
• Promote Innovation and Investment: Enhance strategic cooperation in advancing the green transition.
• Generate Actionable Insights and Policy Recommendations: Share insights supporting inclusive, long-term climate strategies, while addressing societal and governance impacts.
