Trevor Cayless

Director of International Government Relations, Babcock International Group

Trevor Cayless is the Group Director of International Government Relations at Babcock International, a role he has held since 2012. In this capacity, he manages the company’s engagement with diplomatic missions in London, UK embassies abroad, as well as trade and investment promotion agencies in Babcock’s countries of interest.

Before joining Babcock, Trevor had a career with the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office, serving in a variety of diplomatic roles across the globe. His postings included Zambia, Germany, Spain,  Ireland, and the UK, where he held senior positions in trade and investment. Trevor lives in Farnborough and is married with two adult children.

Amerie Bailey

Group Supplier Relationship Management Lead, Babcock International Group

Amerie Bailey is Group Supplier Relationship Management Lead at Babcock International, where she owns the Supplier Relationship Management strategy, processes, tools, and governance that drives collaborative partnerships with strategic suppliers. Amerie is responsible for driving supplier performance, fostering innovation and creating long-term value across the defence supply chain

Dr Tim Wilkinson, Head of Technical Strategy in Babcock Mission Systems, Babcock International Group

Dr Tim Wilkinson is currently Head of Technical Strategy in Babcock Mission Systems. He is responsible for steering the development of Mission Partner capability and expertise to deliver and support multi-domain C5ISR solutions for the forces of the future operating in the new threat context.

After completing his PhD in mobile communications at the University of Leeds, Tim worked in academic and industrial research in various UK and Australian universities and at HP Labs Bristol and Palo Alto. This research covered a spectrum of disciplines, from radio propagation to networking protocols, across a variety of technologies: WiFi, Mobile and SatCom. The resulting publications and patents spawned technologies that would eventually make their way into WiFi and 4G/LTE.

Tim then worked in a CTO position at IPWireless, a start-up specialising in customising COTS communication technologies for industrial, security and military applications. The success of IPWireless in this market resulted in its acquisition by General Dynamics Mission Systems where he moved into a strategic role coordinating BD and R&D activities and steering experimentation, working with end users to understand their emerging requirements.

Over the years Tim has acted as an expert witness on in IP patent litigation on behalf of big corporate clients in the communications industry, taking the stand on several occasions.

Tim is a keen rock climber, ice climber, mountaineer and fell runner (Bob Graham Club No 744), he also enjoys caving and mountain biking.
