Agritech 2023 Highlights


Business Sweden hosted its second physical Agri-Food Tech Delegation in Singapore last year from November 1st to 3rd. The delegation aimed to explore business opportunities and ecosystem collaborations in Southeast Asia's agriculture and food technology sector. This event coincided with the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia 2023 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, featuring over 200 exhibitors from 15 countries and drawing over 6,000 attendees, including regional participants from Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Vietnam, South Korea, and India. Additionally, Business Sweden organized a program to engage with key stakeholders, venture capitalists, and business incubators to accelerate market entry for participating companies, offering opportunities to showcase solutions and discuss potential collaborations within Asia's Agri-Food Tech ecosystem.





Kicked off the delegation with a Briefing on Singapore & Delegation and Kickoff Lunch.





Explored the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia 2023, which boasted over 200 exhibition booths across seven different categories, including food technologies and food packaging, through a guided tour with Enterprise Singapore.



Visited the Singapore Agri-Food Innovation Lab (SAIL), a collaboration between NTU Singapore and Enterprise Singapore, focused on accelerating innovation in the agri-food sector and capitalizing on its economic potential through the fostering of partnerships among corporate partners, SMEs, startups, research institutes, and higher learning institutions to drive agri-food innovations.


Visited local Singaporean startups including Nurasa, AAK, Koh Fah Hydroponics Farm, and Republic Polytechnic, each contributing to innovation in various sectors such as food technology, sustainable agriculture, and education.




Took part in business pitching sessions and a lunch session with venture capitalists.


Met with Temasek Holdings, a global investment firm based in Singapore with a portfolio worth S$403 billion and a strong focus on agriculture, as well as SFA, Singapore's top agency for food-related matters, and EDB, a Singaporean government agency dedicated to enhancing Singapore's global position in business, innovation, and talent.


Concluded the delegation through a dinner event at the Swedish Residences, with 80 invited guests.
