This session will convene key stakeholders from the public, private, and financial sectors to identify concrete pathways for scaling proven, high-impact solutions that decarbonize food systems and reduce food loss and waste. 

Highlight the loss of biodiversity and ecosystems as a strategic risk for business, the economy, and society, rather than a peripheral environmental issue.

Organised by: Act Church of Sweden, Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, and The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation. The focus on reducing emissions has too often overlooked the needs of those most affected by climate change. Women and gender-diverse people are often excluded from climate policy decisions and implementation, despite that climate change is worsening gender inequalities and gender-based violence.

The ancient chinampas of Xochimilco are a proven, circular model for food security, inequality reduction, women empowerment, and climate resilience. They presuppose a living testament to a worldview where humanity and nature exist in symbiotic harmony. This session explores how to regenerate them structurally and for the long term.
