Sweden and Poland share a long tradition of cooperation, built on common values and a shared commitment to regional stability and prosperity. In recent years, this strategic partnership has strengthened, focused on addressing mutual challenges and creating new opportunities both bilaterally and across Europe.
A new strategic partnership agreement was signed by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the end of November 2024. The agreement outlines key priority areas for bilateral trade, investments and economic cooperation, including:
- Innovation
- Clean energy
- New technologies and digitalisation
- Defence
- Support to Ukraine
It also stipulates that a high-level business summit will be organised in Sweden in 2025, followed by a subsequent meeting in Poland in 2026.
The inaugural 2025 summit on 17 November aims to strengthen and develop the competitiveness of both economies and deepen cooperation between businesses in Sweden and Poland. The summit provides a timely platform for dialogue between leaders in politics, the private sector and academia. It will foster exchange of experiences and perspectives on the business climate and key sectoral themes, while advancing efforts to remove trade and investment barriers.
Recent insights from Business Sweden’s 2025 Business Climate Survey for Poland show that the Polish market has become a priority destination for Swedish trade and investment. The survey, conducted annually, captures the perspectives of Swedish companies operating in Poland and provides a comprehensive overview of market conditions, opportunities, and challenges. Despite ongoing global challenges, Poland’s economy continues to demonstrate resilience and steady growth.
Swedish companies have long contributed to Poland’s transformation into one of Europe’s most dynamic economies. Today, Poland is not only a key production and export hub but also an emerging centre for innovation and business services. Its large domestic market, skilled workforce, and stable economic conditions continue to attract Swedish investment across a range of sectors.
We look forward to welcoming you to this important moment in Swedish-Polish relations and to your contribution in shaping the future of our shared economic and strategic ambitions.
