Umeå University（ウメオ大学）は、スウェーデン北部を代表する高等教育機関である。幅広い学問分野における教育機会を提供し、創造的な学習環境、充実したキャンパスライフ、そして学生を支える多様なサポートサービスを備えている。
研究者は世界トップレベルの研究チームに所属し、最先端の施設や設備を活用している。これにより、北極研究、疫学とグローバルヘルス、ジェンダー研究、感染症医学、植物・森林バイオテクノロジー、スポーツ科学など、複数の研究分野でリーダー的地位を確立している。
また、Umeå Universityでは、エマニュエル・シャルパンティエ博士がCRISPR-Cas9を発見し、これにより2020年にノーベル化学賞を受賞している。
